“I wanted to bring something specifically to Exmouth that it didn’t already have and something unique”
High streets are continuing to see more businesses close down on a weekly basis, but bucking the trend is an edible cookie dough shop which has opened in Exmouth.
Last Friday the doors of Cookies & Dream in The Parade opened for the first time offering ice-cream, waffles, milkshakes, smoothies sandwiches, and its unique cookie dough.
Vegans are also catered for and in the near future it will also be selling jacket potatoes and will be expanding its range of cookies.
The former nail bar has cleverly used apple crates supplied by Dikita Crafts to display its goods.
The shop owner, who lives in Exmouth and works part-time as a manager in a local Co-op, said it has long been a dream to open the shop.
He said: “When you come into Exmouth you see a lot of shops shut, charity shops and shops that are exactly the same.
“I wanted to bring something specifically to Exmouth that it didn’t already have and something unique.
“I have tried to source products as locally as possible. The ice-cream comes from Clyst St Mary but the cookie dough is sourced from Doncaster because it’s very difficult to get and I wanted to know exactly what is in it
“I don’t think anywhere else does it locally.
“I have had a lot of people come in and say how nice it is to have something open, especially at this time when business is very difficult because of Covid-19.
